Praise for Tiny Shifts

“Tiny Shifts” is a refreshingly light-hearted yet profoundly insightful guide to the dance of intimate relationships. It explores the underlying currents of connection without ever feeling burdensome, offering a sense of hope, clarity, and validation. I’ll be keeping this wise and delightful book nearby to revisit often—and will gladly recommend it to clients, colleagues, and friends.

"An engaging and accessible handbook for romantic partnerships. Thiessen has crafted an excellent guide to successful relationships.”

I picked up Tiny Shifts expecting another motivational read. You know, the kind that pumps you up for a week and then fades. But this book is different. The author doesn’t shout at you to change your life overnight. He whispers reminders that you can, one tiny step at a time, and that feels doable.

The beauty is in its simplicity. His core idea is that big change starts small — in the way we talk to ourselves, the routines we build, the stories we stop believing. It’s not about becoming someone new, it’s about slowly uncovering who we’ve been trying to be all along. That hit hard.

What I loved most was the tone. It feels like having coffee with a wise friend who’s been through some things, learned a lot, and wants to share it, without sounding preachy.

Since reading it, I’ve started noticing my own “tiny shifts” — choosing curiosity over criticism, taking one small action instead of freezing in overwhelm, celebrating small wins instead of waiting for huge ones. It’s wild how much those little changes add up.

If you’ve ever felt stuck, burned out, or like you’re running in circles trying to “improve” yourself, Tiny Shifts is a breath of fresh air. It’s gentle, wise, and deeply human. Not exaggerating when I say I’ll be coming back to this one again and again.
